The 100 Day Project 2025
#100daysofembellishbits
This year, my 100 Day Project is all about small, intricate compositions that bring together fabric, paper, found words, and tiny treasures—what I’m calling EmbellishBits. The idea was sparked during an unforgettable retreat at my friend Colleen Attara’s studio. The inspiration came from an unexpected moment—I found myself escaping the heat, tucked into a cozy corner by the air conditioner, working small and letting intuition take the lead.
That quiet space of experimentation led me to layering bits of photos, film negatives, lace, and scraps in a way that felt both nostalgic and fresh. Since that time, I realized how much I loved these small, layered pieces and how versatile they could be. This project is my way of continuing that exploration—creating tiny, intricate compositions that could stand alone or be incorporated into journals, collages, and beyond.
For me, The 100 Day Project is about discovery—finding out what excites me, what doesn’t, and what I want to explore more deeply. This marks my ninth year doing it, and I still look forward to the process, the surprises, and the joy of simply showing up for creativity.
I can’t wait to see how these EmbellishBits evolve over the next 100 days! ✨
