To Big Journal or to Small Journal?
That was the question I posed on Instagram: whether small journals or bigger journals were a creative favorite? I got a mix of responses, as I expected!
For me, I like both. Bigger journals give me lots of freedom to create and I donβt feel stifled by such a small page. I can use just about anything I want and tear, fold and add to without much trouble.
But, little journals help me focus and challenge me in a different way. When the journal is small, I tend to be more methodical and precise. I suppose it depends on my mood.
Sometimes I canβt work in a bigger journal because I am traveling and the smaller one makes more sense. Other times, I want to spread out and work big and wide. How about you?
I hope you enjoyed that little bit of creative inspiration as I worked on a smaller page in my Salvaged Journal Mini. Whatβs a Salvaged Journal, you ask? I have several and they are all comprised of different sizes. I started making them out of old books and a variety of papers I had in my stash. I teach my process in a course called Salvaged: A Layered Pieces Journal. It is more than making a journalβ¦it is filled with virtual field trips as I take you along while I shop for goodies and much more about my process. And, of course you come away with a chunky book filled with amazing papers, ready to be loved by you.
