Painted Faces in Art Journaling

Art Journaling with Painted Faces

Hello!

I especially enjoyed this week's challenge which is to create a face using paint.  One of my face painting idols is Katie Kendrick...she rocks the faces!  When I create faces, they are not perfect but abstract.  I think that is why I am drawn to Katie's work.  I adore her faces, with their odd shaped heads, long noses and amazing eyes!  Be sure to check out her blog and you will see exactly what I mean.

I began my page by finger painting areas with acrylic paint to begin the basic shape of my face. From there I added in other colors, paper, pencil and doodle marks.

The face that emerged became known to me as "Louis" and don't you just love his ridiculous old fashioned powdered wig!?  I used a "flower" stamp to create it.

Have a blessed day!
