How to Make a paper Gift Card Holder
GENERIC GIFT CARD HOLDERS ARE BORING
Why not DIY your own?
How about turning the “holder” into a gift in itself? Your friends will fall in love with the holder for sure when you give them one of these mini journals.
In this video tutorial I show you how to take a large piece of painted sketchbook paper and fold it into a mini journal. There’s a pocket for the gift card and another one for other goodies. These mini journals boast two signatures of colorful and random papers. They are the perfect backdrop to the black and white pattern of the journal.
The structure of the mini journal is made from a large piece of 18’ x 24” Canson sketchbook paper. Using handmade brushes, scrapers, watercolor, pencils, pens, ink and more I add black marks to these papers.
The papers are easy and fun to create. I like to do them in batches hang them to dry so they are ready when need papers for collage, for my art journal or other projects.
Making your own gift card holders is a fun project and even if you didn’t add the gift card, they make perfect little gifts for your art journaling friends.
