Mark Making with Handmade Art Brushes
Creating with unique handmade art brushes
Making unique marks in our art is easy with handmade art brushes. Not only are they beautiful but handmade brushes make interesting and organic marks. In this video I show how I use different inks and paint with my feather and other natural brushes to create interesting backgrounds on inexpensive paper. Create a stash of these unique papers and use them in collage or your art journals.
A few of the brushes I use were made in The Art Brush Maker Project. Not sure what that is?
The Art Brush Maker Project is an online course that will inspire you to make beautiful art brushes sure to get your creative mojo going.
Me and fellow artists Kristin Peterson, Tiffany Goff-Smith and Francisca Nunes share creative ways to make handmade art brushes you will love playing with and likely display as unique works of art.
Can’t get enough mark making and want more inspiration? My friend, Francisca Nunes has a tutorial waiting for you: Making Stunning Marks with My Handmade Funky Art Brushes. She is a master when it comes to making natural brushes and her papers are just lovely.
