Hand Stitching in Art Journaling
mixing fabric and paper
Last year, I taught at The Sacred Maker’s Soul Retreat and the world of “slow stitching” opened up to me and I was hooked. The practice is calming and can be done just about anywhere. I’ve gathered a stash of supplies into some pretty zipper pouches so I can take them on the go. Long car rides are more tolerable while stitching.
Incorporating hand stitching into my art journaling process has been very satisfying. In this video, I hand stitch a little fabric patch and mix it with papers in my Transitions Journal. I also love that there is a small piece of Kantha quilt shared gifted to me by my friend, Colleen Attara. 💕
