BOTANICALS COLLAGE JOURNAL Demo
Art Journaling with paper scraps
Itβs amazing how much paper Iβve collected over the years to use in my mixed media and collage projects. I have a hard time parting with these gems. Several months ago, I decided to glue a bunch of paper together in a patchwork type of design. Some of the papers were from magazines and some were papers I had painted in my personal art warm up sessions.
Having explored eco dyeing and baking papers, I thought it might be fun to see what would happen to papers that I had painted if I wrapped them into small bundles and boiled them in some tea steeped water. I was pleasantly surprised that the papers maintained their colorful painted designs while acquiring a βstainedβ wash. The tea seeped into the wrinkles and folds of the paper and some of the papers tore and crinkled on the edges.
More batched were steeped and my pile of collage papers grew. I tore away my favorite parts and now they are the perfect starts for quick pages in my art journals.
